I am an avid reader, and I started collecting quotes back before college (wow, that seems so long ago), and always carry something around with me to write down quotes I read in a book or magazine, or hear somewhere that resonate with me in some way. I read my quote books, and have acquired a few others, and many times a quote will start me down a path that leads to a journal entry or a blog. Today I was reading a quote book I got for Christmas, and the beginning page, before the introduction and index had this one quote on an otherwise blank page;
"I quote others only in order the better to express myself" Michel de Montaigne
This seemed to explain why I am constantly collecting and using quotes. I have a lot of thoughts mulling around in my head and some days I just sit and read quotes until I find one that gives me the "ah-ha!, that's how I've been feeling today" feeling, and away I go!
